Infant Car Seats That Work With the Urban Arrow Maxi Cosi Carseat Adapter

urban arrow infant seat adapter header image

One of my favorite things about the Urban Arrow is the spring-loaded infant car seat adapter that bolts to the inside of the bike frame. This is designed around Maxi Cosi infant car seats with specific stroller attachments. The adaptor is $250 in the US and really makes the Urban Arrow the ultimate family bike allowing you to ride with kids at a young age.

Below is a crowdsourced list of seats that have worked. I will update it as I find new information. Mico AP – works very well (this is what I used for my kids and have available for you to test at the shop)
Mico 30 – works very well
Nuna Pipa – Very light, easy to carry in and out of the house and upstairs. It doesn’t have a handle release, so it requires two hands to get out. Very nice infant carrier. Extra car bases are very expensive.
Pebble – works very well
Cybex Aton M – Works Very Well
Cybex Cloud Z – Works very well

Genevieve pointed out that we should be able to reverse engineer what works by figuring out what strollers list the same adapter fitting. Go with caution unless you know someone that has used them before.

  1. Hi Bike Shop Girl!
This has been a big help as I’m shopping around for car seats/ strollers.
I am wondering if you or the community has experience with strollers that are compatible with the above list AND are easy/lightweight to bring along in the urban arrow? Open to different configurations and using adapters etc.
I want to be able to ride to a museum or park and be able to walk around with baby without having to always do baby wearing wherever we go.
    Any advice is appreciated!

    1. I can second that the Clek Liing isn’t compatible (which is a bummer, as we bought it partly for its promised Maxi Cosi compatibility). From our tests, it seems like one of the tabs on the receiving plate is a bit too large, affecting the ability of the hook on the car seat to get around the tab it needs to attach to. I’m pretty sure it’s a five-minute Dremel job to make it compatible, but I’m not about to spend $300 to find out.

  2. Thanks very much for this! It’s so helpful, given that UA doesn’t provide any list of compatible seats that I’ve been able to find. Can I check whether this refers to the Pebble or the Pebble 360? Or any idea whether the Maxi-Cosi rotating seats still work as a general rule with the adapters?

  3. Hi bike shop girl!

Is this also compatible with Uppa Baby maybe via adapters?
    Many thanks for your reply

  4. I’m so lucky to read your article, it helps me a lot. The models of maxi-cosi brand in the United States and Europe are different. I need your test results. Thanks again.

I would like to ask, can MICO 30 be used on UA adapter and has it been tested?
    Thanks again.
