Love the bike and so does the family. Wife was a little sceptical with us buying this as our second car. Now we use it daily 3k miles a year. It’s expensive if you look at it as just a bike, but it’s really a second car. We live in downtown Chicago. Unless we’re leaving town it’s our primary grocery getter, school transport and fun runner. Zero stress parking if we go to busy areas. We use rain or shine and all winter. Love the low maintenance belt drive in the slop. It’s the only cargo bike that sits on its tail, allowing us to store in the building bike room.

Amazing, I love to hear this!

We wanted a e-cargo bike to ride our twin toddlers around the city and nearby park trails. Tested a Midtail and Boxed Front (bakfiet)and enjoyed the feel of the midtail since it is closest to a regular bike ride. We upgraded to the GSD S00 LX because of all the features (suspension seatpost, belt drive, Enviolo Hub).
Our Tern GSD purchase was a long term investment as we plan to use it until our kids are older. We wanted an established company with known bike components. With so many start-up eBike brands that don’t make it we were okay purchasing a premium bike with the Bosch Dual Battery system for the long haul.

I upgraded to the enviolo belt drive GSD a year ago, in 2023, after nearly 5 years riding a 2018 RadWagon. Over time it became my primary mode of transport with my kid, now 6. We live in Seattle and use bikes to get almost everywhere. Now we have a second kid and I love that the GSD can carry them both without a second thought. We don’t have a garage so I park it vertically in our small entryway (the poor RadWagon had to live outside). I chose the enviolo model partly because I was so used to having a throttle to start from a stop or incline, or if I forgot to downshift optimally. Twisting the right handle can still solve (most of) my problems! The bike is essentially perfect and it is hard to overstate how essential it is in my family’s everyday life and how much better life is when biking for transportation is the default. We only drive when our destination is more than 5-10 miles away or transit is impractical. Join me!
