A teaser… I have more photos to come!
30 minute ride on a demo All City Macho Man. Mostly single track, some baby head rocks, some road, some tight hipster capris and I love the darn thing.
There is no denying my love of Twin Six fashion. Every Wednesday they have a sale of some sorts, called “Hump Day Sale.” Now, every Wednesday I may not post up but this week some of my favorite stuff is for sale!
36% OFF ALL SPEEDY BIKE CLUB GEAR
For this week’s Humpday Sale we are going big and taking 36% off all Speedy Bike Club gear. That means there are deals on Men’s & Women’s SBC T’s, Men’s & Women’s SBC jersey’s, Speedy Wool, SBC socks, the junior T, and even the Speedy Bike Club Poster. Now is the time to join the club. Ride with pride.
A new project is in the works within my beloved Charlotte North Carolina.
A 26 mile trail that would connect the northeast sector to the southeast. Connecting major colleges to major downtown city and allowing many communities to be connected without the need of a motor vehicle.
It is exciting to hear that Charlotte has even thought outside of the box as far to think of this. It is frustrating as it may not be part of the current budget, but it is still lives hope in my alternative transportation heart. While I have my fingers crossed that our council will get this project pushed through on the current budget (I’ll be able to tell you by the end of the month) I am excited that we have the plans in place to see this happen somewhere in the future. Hope for Charlotte, hope for bikes, hope for making my city more friendly so my kids don’t have to always drive to be safe.

Philosophy of Viva La Bicicleta
Simple: get everyone out on a bike and riding.
Viva encourages everyone to feel the freedom one gets from riding a bicycle. You see more of your surroundings, feel the wind in your hair (under your helmet!), and get your blood pumping from being active. We then feel good about ourselves.
My fellow Charlotte friends, Dicky and Zac, want to goto Idaho. There is a contest going on and they want to win bad. How bad? This how they spent their weekend…
Princeton Tec designs, engineers, manufactures and assembles our own products at our facilities in the great state of New Jersey, USA. The technology and products have evolved since we started in 1975. This is what the process looks like today.
After we made this video, it became that much more apparent that it takes a ton of energy, knowledge and skill to do what we do. What we do requires a fast pace and rapid mind. Hold on tight while this video takes you inside the brain of PTEC HQ.
On long rides I use gels, every 30 minutes on rides over 3 hours. On races under 3 hours I use it as well to keep my legs turning over well. On the longer rides I carry a flask or two of gel instead of single packages. The single packages are wasteful and can get expensive.
For the past 4 years I’ve used Hammer Gel’s hard plastic flask. I’m excited to see how the new(ish) Soft Flask from Hydrapak works out. I’ll be able to roll up the bottom to get the last drops of gel and it packs up smaller after use instead of taking up a ton of room in my pocket or bag.
Do you use gel? How do you carry it?
If I wasn’t already beating myself up in the woods for Memorial Day I may be tempted to drag the wifey up to Richmond, VA to witness and photo the North American Cycle Courier Championships. If you are remotely in the area it is worth checking out, even if you aren’t a fixie friend, messengers (and their cult groups) are able to some crazy things on their bikes.
