This year’s Halloween was the first true Halloween as parents. Our daughter loved running up to neighbors houses shouting, “Treat!” and then quickly half skipping, half running off to the next house. The community of North Stapleton shined last night. A neighborhood Halloween parade brought out the families in droves, with the adults, dogs and even strollers decorated for the holiday. Parents looking out for all kids, not only their own, and our kids living in childhood bliss for one more holiday.
My Halloween hangover isn’t bad. Thankfully I didn’t binge on candy, but I did have some. Along with those 2 cinnamon buns from Ikea the scale is up a couple pounds this morning! Thankfully I have a zwift ride planned for tonight, and hope to shed off some calories.
Well Hello Yoga
Yesterday I also started a new practice of 30 Days of Yoga. While searching for a good yoga podcast I found this series and it seems like a good fit. The lessons are all under 30 minutes allowing me to practice during nap time, or even right before bed. I’m hoping to gain mostly flexibility, and some strength, but also kick starting me into a healthy daily habit of yoga. In the past I have typically found my way to yoga during the winter, enjoying the exercise, and different mentality of “sport”, but allowing it to wear off in 2-3 months. I’m really looking forward to finding out what my body can achieve by making this a daily practice! For example, I wonder how long it will take for me to be able to touch my toes…
