Hey Andreas,

Personally I use one from Feedback Sports. They make light weight, durable, repair stands that sometimes double as a daily work stand in my shop when it is busy. If you need something to do a safety check and lube your chain a rear stay mounted one from Dimension works. I wouldn't say to use it on a 40 lb beach cruiser, but for mountain and road bikes it seems to handle well. It is under $30 and pops your rear up off the ground. The nice thing is the size, it may be a foot and half tall, and can easily be thrown in to your car to take to a race or ride start.
